And if I hear Freebird on WMGK one more time...

At least you're not hearing it twice as much when "The Hawk" was playing it too...

It never ceases to amaze me how tough people act on the internet when I bet they'd cower in fear when confronted in person by the object of their derision.

First, post some pictures of yourselves and THEN criticize the way others look.

Second, reflect on the amount of time you spend pondering, writing messages in regards to, then monitoring and replying to responses, on such inconsequential topics. And be embarrassed, because you should.

JT is obviously young, inexperienced and out to amuse himself because he hasn't yet learned how to do otherwise. But people are talking about him, aren't they? Who talked about that last guy he replaced? Listening to him was like listening to paint dry.

It's fine that JT is young (as I pointed out) and inexperienced (as I pointed out) and quite frankly, where better to learn than on a station that no one listens to, except us apparently. But, I presume he is being paid, and because of that his job isn't to "amuse himself," it is to "amuse" the audience.

Despite what some might think, all publicity is not good publicity. Bad publicity, is in fact, bad publicity. And I don't think anyone would say listening to Joe Thomas was like listening to paint dry (what does that sound like exactly?). He may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but certainly he sounded professional and kept the show moving along.

-On the plus side you can play a wicked game of 'count the ah's and um's' if you tune in. When I last listened I recall thinking that my old PD(s) would have had a field day in our weekly meetings. Many things NOT to be doing. I was young once too, the good thing for me was that I had guidance.
-I find it interesting that radiogeekssuck has only one post and just joined and seems a bit thin skinned......
-Also not sure if people on this and other radio boards can be counted as 'people talking about him'! I for one am not normal people.

No, that last post wasn't me. If I did feel the need to respond to this drivel, I'd be a man and use my real name at the end of the message...like this:

JT Morgan
1420 WCOJ

"And I don't think anyone would say listening to Joe Thomas was like listening to paint dry (what does that sound like exactly?). "

Philly ex, Radiogeekssuck apparently wasn't referring to Joe Thomas, but instead Matt DeFazio. He was the potted fern who followed Joe from about January until our man JT showed up last month.

My mistake. Shows how much I listen, then again I'm not where within listening distance (is anyone really?). But what exactly does paint drying sound like? crackling? I guess that would fit in with WCOJ's sound. Maybe paint drying sounds like a Spanish radio station bleeding through your walls, that would definitely match COJ.

I listen to JT in the morning at WCOJ and suffer through the signal for the same reason I listen to Randy in the morning at WCHE and suffer through the signal. It's different, it's local, and both guys are living out a dream. They're on the radio.
JT had no radio experience, he's the new guy, and he's building from scratch. The previous host pretty much reset the listenership back to zero. So good luck JT, it's all uphill from here.
I'm curious as to where the path uphill will lead.
Thank God it's still live and local and not brokered or piped in from somewhere else.

Charlie
