WCOJ's new morning show...

...would you say it is more like watching grass grow or listening to paint dry? At least a couple regular members of WCOJ's "temperature spotters" network, Al & Gene have apparently registered their displeasure with the show by no longer calling in.

"...if a new morning show debuts on a station and no one hears it, does it make a noise"?

I'm just sayin'... ::)

First, Al from Downingtown wasn't really keen about having to call in those dumb weather reports. You could hear it in his voice.

And Gene works for the station, and he still has a job, unlike Thomas.

Joe Thomas... the guy who once suggested "free chicken" would help get-out-the-vote in Coatesville. I bet Joe wishes he had some "free chicken" now. I bet he's hungry.

Harnett is doing a good job.

And you've got to get him credit for not playing that "FCC voicemail / Dubai ports" bit Joe Thomas would spit-up every morning. It was so awkward listening to Joe laugh at his own bit.

Joe Thomas in the Morning is now Joe Thomas in the Mall, because that's where he's working these days.

Mr. Fitzgerald, or is it Carraway? No matter,

I have always wondered if there really were people out there that couldn't stand someone's radio show, yet listened intently everyday. I guess there are. Now all I need to figure out is why?

BTW #1: You still haven't suggested a way to get more people to vote in Coatesville.
BTW #2: I have also suggested internet voting and using bars as polling places as ways to increase voter turnout. Any problem with those?
BTW #3: Not the mall, but I'm still on the air and my wife's a vegetarian so I'll take my chicken any way I can get it.

Joe is a good guy..give him a chance....starting out and getting up at the crack of ugly isn't easy for anyone in radio.

Speaking for all of us who have arisen at 2am or thereabouts to slog through snow/sleet/rain to hit WaWa for a coffee/donut/Inky and then wandered in to the station by 4 or so to get ready to "entertain the locals"...you said a mouthful! 8)

#1: The committeepeople (both D and R), elected officials (both D and R) and coalition folks need to do a better job communicating the many reasons why Coatesville residents must vote - underscoring what is at stake in municipal elections. People will vote only when they believe their interests are threatened, and getting people to understand the stakes requires education and communication, not free chicken.

#2: Under state law, the polls in the Commonwealth open at 7:00 am, and I don't know very many bars that are open at 7:00 am.

#3: Congrats on the new job.

I listened to your show for the traffic reports. I drive the 30 Bypass and Route 202 everyday, and I found WCOJ's traffic reports timely and accurate. But I do listen to WCOJ on the weekends. I enjoy the Computer Corner, and the various community-related shows.

I tried listening to "The Big Show", but Henson is atrocious. Not funny, not original, not engaging. He must have photos of management to have remained on the air for this long.

Henson bites the weenie. Not only with his canned morning "newscasts," but also with the PM show where he often plays ten minutes of crappy music at random, seemingly to kill time. (Why does he keep referring to himself as "we" and to the 4-5pm hour as "tonight?" Why does he say "expecially?") I wonder if it dawns on him that these R&B & rock songs or Monty Python album cuts mean absolutely nothing to those who typically listen to WCOJ. They are likely still wondering when Art Douglas will be "coming back from that long vacation" as they get some more Polygrip to adjust their dentures.

Joe Thomas improved that station 1000% It is too bad that, aside from the programing revisions he implemented, the operation is now back to square one.

Likely about as much as some kid doing college radio wonders what demo he/she is targeting! In other words, No.

Harnett is doing better. Maybe his is more than an interim post?

On the other hand, Henson getting worse. His talent is actually regressing. He should go back to changing air filers in Chevys.

Last week a caller asked Harnett if he was there for good. He said no and that someone else would be arriving "soon."
