WCON-FM now 100,000 watts

Congratulations to WCON-FM as they turned on their 100,000 watts over the weekend. Big increase from 19,000 watts at 807 feet (50,000 watts equivalent at 500 feet for C2) to 100,000 watts. Understand they installed a new antenna and a new transmitter for the power increase.

Would they stay country and compete with 106.1 and the other smaller country stations up that way or would they go a different direction now that they cover more ground and population?

More specifically, would they sell out?

I listened to the signal today and couldn't hear much difference. Are you sure they are continuously 100KW or are they testing the new facility?

Let's hope their spot sales will pay the electric bill and have a little left over, at the end of the month, to order a pizza.

Something tells me what they really want to sell aren't spots.
