This transfer would seem to mark the end of a 50-plus year career of a real gentleman owner/operator, Mr. Robin Mathis. We were (friendly) competitors and I can tell you that I can't remember a nicer person in radio.

Enjoy your retirement, Mr. Robin. You earned it.

Once again, all I can say is SAD!!!

Wow talk about a GIANT in Mississippi Radio... I listened to WCPC in the 60s mannnnn! There are not many who can keep a station goin' that long!

Sorry to hear someone leaving radio like that but as they said wish a great retirement for him.

One thing I did notice. The actual purchaser is Cajun Radio Corp., which was a company that was formed to try to buy a Louisiana station but later failed but is owned by Wilkins)

I'm wondering if it will be a full on format flip, or like Wilkins agreed to at first in the Louisiana property, to run a mix of the former format as well as his Wilkins programming.
