WCPH 1220 DX test this morning

Is anyone else hearing signs of this? WCPH is a 1000-watt omni from Etowah TN, namesake to a river lamented in the 1971 Jerry Reed song 'Ko-ko Joe'.

The station reportedly was to run various tones from 2 AM to 4 AM Eastern. I caught a flurry of 1000-cycle tones between 2:25 and 2:35 off the car radio en route to and from a coffee place. It sounded like the traditional busy signal pacing to me, only with 1 kHz tones rather than the buzzes many of us are familiar with.

I hadn;t seen the TEST mentioned here on this forum, so was wondering if anyone else here caught it at all.

S'sposedly, there will be ANOTHER test exactly a week from now. Sunday morning January 3rd. Same time, same station.

As I reported in the "Post Your Latest DX" thread I did hear the DX test from WCPH. The test actually ran on early Saturday morning (12/26) between 1:00 - 3:00 am CST. It was heard with good signal in the Chicago area with morse code and voice IDs, staircase and steady tones and march music.

The test is scheduled to run again on on Saturday morning (1/2/2021) between 1:00 - 3:00 am CST.

They actually ran the test one hour early. Heard them at 12:30 am CST with various tones and code IDs. Better reception this time as opposed to the test they ran last week.

As mentioned in 'your DX catches', I had KSLM, KDOW, CJRB and a tentative KHTS last night on 1220, albeit I have sent a file to Les Rayburn that had a siren sound effect and a multitude of beeps at both 1khz and 1200hz. I wonder if I had them! Hoping I did. Would be TN #3 at over 2K miles.

On the other hand, I'd be happy if KSLM went down to just a few watts at night. 171 watts sounds like 1710. What a pest to have on 1220, a normally open channel.

After many weeks of waiting, I got an email from Joseph Miller of the CPC confirming my catch of WCPH-1220 Etowah TN on 1/1/21 (using that SDR receiver out in Kittitas). The beeps were a match to the DX test content.
WOO HOO!!!

NEW #805, 1KW at 2009 miles! TN #3 too! SWEET!

A big thanks go out to Paul, Joseph, and Les for running this test.

Got mine yesterday too. Very nice card. Thanks to all involved running the test.
