WCPT opens website

WCPT in Chicgao has finally opened a website. They promsie that they will soon be streaming 24/7. (WCPT is a daytimer on 850khz and is an Air America affilaite.)

How many daytime talk stations actually do a 24/7 stream and how much success have they experienced?

What's amazing is that this tiny little signal-impaired daytimer is beating a couple other talk stations, including WCKG-FM and Salem's WIND, both with pretty good signals.

Maybe Clear Channel should have jumped a bit sooner to put the format on 1690, which I hear is in trouble.

The website looks fine. I don't see how it matters that they are streaming. All they do is take the AAR network feed plus Big Ed (which are already widely available online).
The station is a rim-shot and a daytimer, which really cripples progressive talk in Chicago - especially in the winter months. Unfortunately, the big operators (CBS, ABC, Tribune) and Salem and other religious broadcasts have locked up all the good AM sticks in the market. Progressive talk's best shot would be Clear Channel's Real Oldies WRLL (about to flip); not that good but better than what they've got.
