WCQL - Notes

A couple of months ago, it was posted on here that John Pratt, former Point PD had moved across town to WCQL to take over as PD there. I was up in Lake George this week and tuned in to see if there was some "tweaking" of the station under Pratt.

Musically, it does sound much less "tired" than WCQL of the past couple of years. Although I too like Van Halen, the B cuts every hour were a bit much. I've noticed that has backed off and they also added current cuts which seems to work well for them.

The imaging is still kinda lacking, but not half bad.

What I found surprising is the fact that Tim Seleste (sp??) is still on in PM drive. I don't understand why you would put, much less keep, a guy on in a key daypart who has limited entertainment value and a very annoying habit of swallowing in the middle of all of his breaks which go on for eternity and don't seem to have any direction. This is not a personal attack of the guy, I'm sure he's a great guy and that's why he's been there so long, but they really need to put someone with something to offer entertainment wise into that slot.

Overall, I think they are sounding good musically. But they really need to beef up the talent pool.
