When you posted this info, the first thought that occurred to me was the fact that during WCRB's entire dumbed-down period (the babble-on captivity) they could not under any circumstance whatsoever play either this segment or the entire motet. Guess what? WGBH-operated WCRB played Bach's "Jesu, meine freude" TODAY (Wednesday, December 16th) in its entirety at 1:00 pm...and I heard it. Sublimely beautiful throughout. So as soon as it was over, I tuned to another station ("Fresh Air on WBUR) because I couldn't listen to another piece for a while. This is a problem with REAL classical-music broadcasting...after such a lofty piece as this one, or any other in that rarefield realm, subsequent music or (shudder) commercials just don't fit!
