WCRI 1180 AM testing new audio processor

On Saturday afternoon (11/12) I installed a new audio processor on WCRI 1180 AM, replacing an Optimod that may have been twenty years old. The new box is on a trial basis. I'm curious if anyone notices any difference in the sound of the station.

WCRI is a daytime-only station; at night, WHAM in Rochester, NY takes over 1180 AM.

The Audio processing sounds great!!!All radio people I know tell me how awesome it sounds for the classical format!! Sorry to be nit picky, but please tell the powers that be at Judson Group to fix the legal ID. It really bothers me. WCRI Block Island, Hope Valley is not legally correct. Both stations must be identified separately with their respective cities of licenses.

A proper legal id would be....WCRI Hope Valley, and whatever else, and WCRI-FM Block Island, and whatever else, or Hope Valley's WCRI and Block Island's WCRI-FM, or you could separate the two legal ids and run them separate from each other without even mentioning dial position. An improper Id is WCRI 1180 am Hope Valley, because there should be nothing, not even dial position between call letters and city of license.

Correct on the first count, extremely incorrect on the second. 47 CFR 73.1201 sets out a list of acceptable insertions between callsign and city of license, and among them is frequency or channel number. (Licensee name and network affiliation are acceptable as well.)

"WCRI 1180 Hope Valley" would be a completely legal ID.

I was down there today, and what you describe above was exactly what I heard.
