WCRN announces their replacement for Howie Carr

WCRN has announced that starting Monday 09/17, Peter Blute's morning show will expand by an hour to 6 to 10 a.m. and Hank Stolz will do PMD from 2 to 6 p.m. Details are on their home page - http://mikerobertswebdesign.com/wcrn/

Does this mean that Carr's exit from WRKO is all but official in spite of what Entercom leads us to believe?

It sure looks that way. Not sure what WCRN will run from 10-noon; it says that the Drew Mortagage Show
is on noon-1 pm, then Laura Ingraham. Will they move Laura to 10-noon to run live? What about noon-2 then?

Both Entercom and Greater Media have been mum about the fate of Howie though Howie has given
"hints" on the air.
What happens if the plan to move to FM in the AM is somehow squashed, and 'CRN wants to keep
Howie? They could just put Stolz back on mid mornings and resume Howie, but it's looking that won't
happen.

Someone on FreeRepublic mentioned that Michael Graham was making not-too-thinly veiled references
that Howie would be on in the mornings, and Graham would move to 9-noon, and the Severin has also
made references. Yesterday on Howie's show, HC referred to a talk host--and fellow Herald scribe--
whom he soon "would be talking to on a daily basis". That would be Graham, who would follow HC on
"FM in the a.m."

Graham, according to a Free Republic post: ""Let's just say, for example, that a new host joining our station this month and takes over this time slot. It could be anybody, but let's say his name is . . . I dunno . . . Automobile."

According to a brief update yesterday afternoon from the Worcester Business Journal, WCRN does plan on carrying Laura live from 10-Noon but would like to eventually go local throughout the day.

I'm surprised they didn't go with Upton Bell in this slot who has done occasional fill-in work and contributes on the Peter Blute show.

That makes sense; are they committed to that brokered hour, Drew Mortgage show?
If so you could see Laura 10-1pm, actually (first hr delayed till noon), and Drew mortgage at 1 (unless they do a setup
with Laura's "first hour" being tape delayed to 1 pm, with Drew show still airing at noon).

Updated on their website - Apparently they have decided on delaying Laura's 1st hour to 1 p.m. and leaving the Drew Mortgage show from Noon-1 p.m.
