WCSH Inauguration Coverage

I don't usually watch Channel 6.They had some video problems today, frozen screen & solid green screens.I guess this kind of stuff happens.Who is Don Carrigan? They should give a prize to whoever can guess how many times he said "ahh".They must have some talented people left who can speak well on camera for an important Live Event like this. From reading this board I know a lot of people are gone from WCSH.

Don Carrigan is a legend in Maine journalism and has a deep knowledge of the workings of Maine government. I never noticed the ahhhs until you mentioned them! Still didn't bother me...WCSH's audio and video gremlins are unfortunate, but not surprising given Gannett's penny-pinching on engineering (outsourcing master control, newsroom automation etc.) Notice that WMTW didn't even cover the ceremony - and people wonder why nobody watches them!

Neither did WVII in Bangor...WLBZ had the same troubles as WCSH (I beleive master control of LBZ is now in Portland with WCSH), WABI i had coverage of the speech only and MPBN was live from 11:30 to just after the speech ended

Gannett centralized master control at its Jacksonville or Greenville hub; can't remember which one.

Must be Jacksonville -- Gannett owns no stations in the markets that Greenville (North or South Carolina) is located in.

Was Greensboro (WFMY) intended?

Yes, that's the one; I had my Greens mixed up...
