WCSZ

I was just thinking about this station on the other thread...I guess they've gone dark now? Wikipedia says this:

On July 19, 2007, the FCC issued a "STA" which is the process that allows a station to officially remain off the air for up to six months, at the end of which the station must have returned to the air or surrender its broadcasting license.[1]. The justification for the STA was "TO CONSERVE ASSETS WHILE PURSUING FUNDING, THE LICENSEE RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS AUTHORITY TO REMAIN SILENT FOR 180 DAYS."[2]

So I guess it's officially over? 180 days have past..

The FCC database still shows WCSZ as "licensed and silent."

It also shows July 1, 2007 as the date this began. So it's now been off almost a year.

Unless there's something going on behind the scenes that's not showing in the database, the station will likely be deleted after the 1-year mark.
