WCTK 98.1

Hats off to Bob Walker and the entire staff of WCTK. The station sounds better than it has in years. They are clearly taking a page from WKLB's playbook in terms of going after the female listener. Just listen to some of the new liners. But I love the local approach. Cat Country is doing a great job getting out into the community, and identifying the specific cities and towns in the region. The station doesn't sound like an "Iheartradio" station. It sounds like a Providence station.

Bob Walker also has tremendous pride in being local. I tuned in a few Sunday nights ago. Steve Miller has worked the Sunday night shift for at least the last 16 years. He wasn't on. Instead of going jockless, like most stations in the market, Bob Walker, the PD, did the Sunday night shift. In today's radio world, that is a great throwback!
