WCTK Mornings

Any ideas about whether or not they've found a main morning host? I realize they had to hire a PD first but that was done awhile ago & he's obviously not an on-air PD as Chris Whitten has been flying solo mornings since Tad Lemire left. I wonder if they just decided to go through the important fall book as-is intentionally rather than make changes. Cruising these boards in some markets I really know nothing about it just seems that hiring elsewhere is done more quickly. Here in Providence in the past stations like WHJY & PRO-FM have taken forever to hire people & now CTK is dragging on.

I don't know where they stand but I wish they would hire someone quick. Chris is a nice guy but I enjoy the banter back and forth between two.

There was a heavy duty ad for the Cat Country morning show a couple of months back. I can't believe they didn't find anyone, unless whoever they found can't start until after the holidays. NO ONE should be doing a solo morning show. I think some shows are crowded & am not even sure I like the trend towards multiple persons shows carried to their extreme but the fact is that audiences are used to them & they're not going away. The last person to try it in the market was Mighty Mike Osborne on Z100 but that station wasn't meant to succeed & Mike is so good that it sounded as good as a one-man show can. I just hope Cat Country isn't banking on audience loyalty. It may actually work for them but someone else is needed on that show. Let's wait & see what happens in January. People from out of market don't like relocating this time of year.

I have to admit I'm no fan of the format or station but Lemire was good and Robby is too.Chris is sidekick material at best and small market sidekick material at that.If no change is planned there then they are relying on audience loyalty regardless of who's on the air.
