WCTT-FM 107.3 FM T-107

And, with all the goings on in the Knoxville market with News/Talk (which covers Corbin real good) a flip of AM formats between 680 (770 watts day/830 watts directional at night with a "Music of Your Life" type format) and 1330 (5 Kw directional daytimer with a Talk type format) should be considered. Just some things to think about.

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. When I interviewed for the Operations Manager job there 10 years ago, I proposed the same thing and the owner was dead set against it. He wanted a 24 hour standards format on WCTT 680 and WKDP 1330 to stay news/talk. My impression was that the owner liked the standards format and wanted to hear it 24/7. A lot can change in 10 years, but from the sound of how T-107 is being programmed and imaged, I doubt a common sense money-making solution would suffice.

The 106.9 FM signal from North Carolina is WMIT-FM licensed to Black Mountain, NC, near Asheville. I understand this station has the twelfth largest FM coverage in America. It reaches the metropolitan areas of Asheville, Charlotte and Greenville, SC. It covers portions of Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. It is owned by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Is there a list somewhere of the stations with the largest coverage area?

Here's a start.....

I have recorded a 90 min. aircheck - actually 2 airchecks of this station, one with the Rick Dees countdown and have to say this station sounds like a mixture of modern AC and classic rock. It could almost be Triple A if not for the popish sounding songs. I don't think the music was picked very well as there are lots of songs typically not played on most stations as a whole.

So all in all, that's what KVAK 93.3 in Valdez, AK must sound like.

Also it's very weird that Rick Dees is on this station while he is also on WTBK 105.7 from Manchester the same day. His countdown doesn't fit the format very well at all.
