WCTX New Haven in NJ?

Just curious if anyone in the NYC/NJ area ever get an UPN station WCTX-59 out of New Haven, CT? I was entering information through the antennaweb's web site and put in the zip code of some NJ cities, when I click "Enter", it showed the list of all the stations you can receive using a rooftop antenna in your town. What surprises me is that WCTX out of New Haven, CT is listed there! To get that station, you probably had to point the antenna NE towards Connecticut to fairly receive the signal.

So if this is true, WCTX could probably be an alternative to WWOR "UPN 9" if they air Yankee games. But under any circumstances, only a powerful antenna and if you live in the suburbs, would you receive that station.

Please comment on how well can you get that "alternate" station.

During the DX openings in the summer, I've gotten ch. 59 with some regularity in Queens. Other frequent catches from CT include Ch. 8, 20, 43, 49, 61, and less often, Ch. 18, 26 (especially with the LPTV on 26 in NYC now), 30 and a couple of the other CPTV stations. Ch. 3 seems to come in really rarely.

I was once able to get Ch. 36, a PBS station out of Rhode Island, and Ch. 10 and 12 from Providence, with rabbit ears, one summer afternoon about 10 years ago, in Queens. There were also evenings when I would get Fox 29 and Ch. 57 from Philly.

Three years ago, when the dish was out (had DirecTV at the time), I picked up I believe all of the Connecticut stations and WLNY with just rabbit ears, plus WGTW, before they went TBN. This is Jersey, so yes, you can pick up the Connecticut stations here sometimes.

Top image is WCTX's coverage. You probably could get them in some parts of Bergen County, but not much beyond that.

UPN 57, WPSG - Philadelphia, is readily availible to MUCH of NJ as an "alternative" to UPN 9. It's also carried on Cable TV in most of Central NJ and all of Southern NJ.
