WCVB 50 years of remembering

You don't think advertisers would be interested in such a show? Or do you figure that the audience a retrospective would attract might be large but too old to matter?
Not likely to be a big draw for advertisers. It's mostly an ego trip, as in TV there is no station loyalty except for local news.

Radio stations have a certain degree of loyalty based on their format. TV stations are block programmed, and have no such loyalty factor. We change channels faster than Trump changes wives...

Most of the features on WCVB's earlier anniversary celebration a few decades ago involved its local news/sports/weather programs and personalities. Same with WBZ-TV's. Both stations were airing primarily network and syndicated programming then, as they were today. You can easily find segments of both shows on YouTube. So if what the viewers are loyal to is local news -- as was the case back then -- why won't a retrospective work now?

Just saw Natalie Jacobson doing one of WCVB’s anniversary spots. Good to see her, and that she still has ties to the station. She’s pushing 80 but still has that authoritative voice.

Natalie has written a book and will be talking about it with Maria Stephanos on Tuesday's (May 24) 6pm broadcast with a repeat on the 11pm show. Apparently, she discusses her career, Chet Curtis, and whatever else. Maria mentioned it on her Facebook page. Maria also mentioned that this will be Nat's first time back at Channel 5 since she retired but I seem to remember that Nat came back when Dick Albert announced his retirement.

Natalie also did an interview for WCVB when Chet passed away but she wasn’t in studio. Maybe that’s what they mean - first time back in studio.
