WCVB and GMA on Saturdays

I have a couple of bones to pick with WCVB channel 5 and Saturday broadcasts of Good Morning America:
  1. Why is Good Morning America discontinuous on Saturday mornings? It airs from 7-8 AM then 9-10 AM. Monday through Friday GMA airs continuously during the 7 AM and 8 AM hours.
  2. Why is there a "double ticker" during the 9 AM hour on Saturdays? It makes the news anchors and graphics look distorted and squished. I have attached a screenshot as a reference.

It works a lot better if you have another station to compare it to. And where I live there's actually 2. WCVB's sister station WMUR out of Manchester, NH just runs their ticker over the ABC News ticker and it's the exact same size, so nothing is squished. And WLNE out of Providence doesn't even have a local ticker on theirs. Not surprising since it's such a small station. They probably don't have the technology.
