We all know that WCVB and WMUR are sister stations in the Boston/Manchester market, and both ABC affiliates, but there are quite a few differences between them. Let's start with the obvious, WCVB serves the Boston area and WMUR serves NH. But there are other differences as well. The main difference I see is that WCVB airs Ellen DeGeneres at 3pm while WMUR still airs it at 4pm (WCVB did have Ellen at 4 in the past). The reason is because WMUR does not have a 4pm Newscast or a 7pm newscast. Also, both have their own versions of Chronicle, but WMUR airs NH Chronicle at 7pm and WCVB airs Chronicle at 7:30. And at 3pm, prior to dropping Inside Edition, WMUR had 2 back-to-back episodes of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. But they recently replaced the 2nd Millionaire with a syndicated show called "Celebrity Page," which doesn't even air on WCVB, and moved Millionaire to the 7:30 timeslot. WCVB only airs one episode of Millionaire per day, at 12:30pm after the Noon news, while WMUR has another show that isn't on WCVB called "Daily Blast Live." And their weekend schedules are very different, too. It seems like neither of them have local news at the same time on the weekends. Do you think these differences are on purpose?
