WCVB Graphics Refresh

The last time WCVB changed their graphics was in April 2018, so a refresh was overdue. They're still using the same color schema and text font, but it feels a bit more modern.

The music cues have also changed going into/out of a commercial break. And even better - they got rid of that very annoying "da-duh-DA-duh" sound that they would play when the "Next 7 Days" weather graphic appears! It was annoying as **** and not very hospitable to some neuro-divergent viewers.

Side note - how come whenever a station debuts a new graphics package, it's always the 12 PM broadcast that gets it first? It makes no sense for me that the morning news has to wait an extra day to get the "new toys".

I would say that the evening newscast is the intended primetime release, with the midday being a "preview", to work out any bugs.

Because there are a lot of parts and pieces to a new graphics package. Including loading files, testing the graphics with the newsroom automation systems, etc. This also involves a lot of people. Engineers, production staff, news personnel and IT. The work "starts" at 10am* and is put into place for the Noon as a 'test run' before the 4pm. If they wanted to do it for the Eyeopener, that would require all the people involved coming in at 1am, which no one wants to do.

(*The actual work on the new Graphics package typically starts months in advance. But to switch over everything takes a lot of work in itself).
