Hi Folks,
I was watching "Hogan's Heroes" from ME TV off air on WCVB 5.2 on Wednesday night 9/18. Around 9:05 pm, it seems like WCVB lost the ME TV feed as there was first a black screen, then static, then a "blue screen", kind of like what you used to see on a VCR when there was no signal or the tape ran out. I don't think "Hogan's Heroes" ever came back- the blue screen was up until at least 9:30. WCVB's ME TV subchannel was back to normal last night.
Being ME TV is a subchannel, does WCVB's master control monitor it? Or is everything automated (ME TV's signal comes down from satellite, local automation equipment adds in local commercials and then sent out over the air)? I have a feeling that it wasn't being monitored or they would have at least added a "Channel 5" ID until the feed was restored. I can also receive WMUR's ME TV subchannel where I live and it wasn't effected- "Hogan Heroes" aired as normal. Is WMUR's master control in WCVB's Needham, MA facility?
Thanks...
-Mike
