WCVG SOLD TO DAVIDSON MEDIA, SO I'M TOLD

"No the owner of WCVG , the Plessingers, are going to run a Classic Country format until the sale of WCVG has passed thru FCC..... Davidson Media is buying station....Then it's SPANISH PROGRAMMING ALL DAY ALL NIGHT...

But the signal is weak and the equipment is old, ............... NOT WORTH IT

A broker from Ky was telling someone on the phone the price and it was overheard and confirmed price will go b/n 1.5-1.8 mill.....

from www.davidsonmediagroup.com website:

Davidson Media Group (DMG) Davidson Media Group (DMG) is one of the largest multicultural radio groups in America today. With a focused vision of serving the country’s emerging Hispanic markets, DMG offers national radio advertisers the ability to reach the fastest growing segment of today’s multicultural audiences.

DMG also offers a growing network of Urban and Southern Gospel Stations that are often the sole source of the inspirational format in the areas they serve.

Since 2004, Davidson Media Group has been addressing the needs of the underserved Hispanic and Inspirational media markets with innovative, grassroots programming and growth opportunities for advertisers and communities alike."

If this is true

It's about time! Not a great signal, but at least it's there. Nothing here at night, but OK during the day.

Re: WCVG SOLD TO DAVIDSON MEDIA, SO I'M TOLD

Not exactly the way I'd have done it. If they're serious about classic country, this must be the testing phase. I wouldn't play "Achy, Breaky Heart" even if Billy Ray Cyrus died. I'm pretty familiar with the songs and I've heard several I've had to strain to remember. Still haven't heard any Merle, Tammy, Loretta, George, etc. Seems the focus is 80's and 90's. The huge gaps between the tunes and no IDs make me wonder if this is reality or just marking time until a switch to Spanish or something else comes.

Thanks Bob

Great to hear from you. Where are you now?
