WDAS-AM

Turned the stream on the other morning and immediately thought to myself "Where is Bobby Holiday?"

I really thought he did a nice job on the WDAS-AM morning show, quite a personality. Sorry to learn about the budget cut. :-[

WDAS-AM is now jockless 24/7 but they have recently added a longtime Philadelphia gospel DJ on Sundays, I wonder if they may revert back to the old WDAS-AM, at least some on Sundays.

WDAS AM is flipping to Smooth Jazz Monday at 12pm. WJJZ returns as 1480 WJJZ and 106.1 HD2. It makes sense. WDAS AM was not going anywhere in the ratings. Bobby's exit was the writing on the wall. I enjoyed him at WDZZ in Flint.

That is very sad, if unsurprising :'(

Glad I got the WDAS-AM airchecks that I managed to tape. It was the best sounding new station to come on the air for quite some time.

Bobby Holliday did a terrific local-centric show on WDAS-AM. About 15 years ago, he was on Radio One's Philly 103.9 WPHI.

When WDAS-AM started the urban oldies format I was legitimately surprised, I thought it couldn't last too long. When Butter passed away, I wondered how much longer it would continue. The station had an awesome playlist. I counted today and I have around 60 airchecks each about 3-6 hours long. I will post a few on my airchecks site at some point. The station was shortlived but definitely worth remembering.
