WDAY expands 6pm newscast (almost) statewide

From the Changing Newscasts Blog:

WDAY loves to showcase its news, statewide. They will prove that again, even further on Monday September 14th, 2015.

On that day, WDAY 6 will expand its weeknight and Saturday 6:00 p.m. newscast to viewers in Central and Western North Dakota, who watch on sister stations KBMY 17 in Bismarck and KMCY 14 in Minot. All stations are ABC affiliates and all owned by Forum Communications. The newscast, WDAY News at 6:00, will also be seen on WDAY’Z Xtra, WDAY 6 and sister station WDAZ 8 (ABC)’s 24-hour local weather and sports channel on WDAY 6, WDAZ 8, KBMY 17 and KMCY 14’s subchannels.

WDAZ 8’s very own 6:00 p.m. weeknight newscast will remain separate as is and will continue to focus on the Grand Forks and Devils Lake areas. Currently, KBMY 17/KMCY 14 airs The Middle at 6:00 p.m. and 12:05 a.m., but will soon move to just episode airing at 12:05 a.m.

KBMY 17/KMCY 14 already simulcast several newscasts from WDAY 6/WDAZ 8, including First News from 5:00-7:00 a.m., WDAY 6/WDAZ 8’s weeknight news at 5:00 p.m., the Saturday morning edition of First News from 7:00-8:30 a.m. (as well as Forum Communications’ own ag-related TV show, Ag Week TV from 8:30-9:00 a.m.) and the Sunday 5:30 p.m. newscast.
