WDBN 107.9 The Buzz Dublin

Long due repairs to WDBN have finally made it fulfill it's 60db contours. Can actually hear it outside of Laurens and Johnson County .
And Yes we can hear it in my home in Mount Vernon Ga. A welcome change from all the other formats.

Well it seems when we have lightning they start having problems. We may have some bad lightning tonight. Maybe they can hold up on this storm. What kind of repairs did they just do? I know they used to be on 107.5. Then moved to 107.9 and they also put up a new tower. I think they sounded better on 107.5. The station in Warner Robins on 107.5 should have used 107.9 Macon had a 107.9 before.

Well they moved to 107.9 over two years ago. As soon as they made the move, a lightning storm took out their antenna. Small stations such as this one don't make good timing in correcting their technical issues when a lot of money is involved. Anyway, as soon as they made the correction (about three weeks ago) their signal is back up and now can be heard as far south as Vidalia and as far west as the WR exit.

My only complaint is the sports talk morning show. I despise that! Besides that, they are sounding pretty good. I just wished they would go more in a mainstream rock direction and add some modern stuff to the mix.

They did go off the air last night. I think it was just a power outage. There big station WQZY 95.9 is off the air still.

They have changed frequencies. There has been a switch with 96.9 ( a stupid translator tower ) and 107.9 (25,000 watt). Really sucks for folks who want to hear some rock around the Toombs County area. Guess back to WIXV I-95 with their 150 songs playlist and crappy signal.

I noticed the change today. I am about 15 miles east of Dublin. I was scanning stations. The radio stopped on 96.9 I heard rock. I thought I was getting Jacksonville WJGL I sometimes do. Anyway I am not sure why they changed. I wish I knew. Maybe they figure they will have a larger audiuance. You may want to try 103.1 WDBG new station in Dublin. Vidilia is the cutoff for the signal. With a good antenna pointed toward Dublin you may get lucky. Also 1330 AM is Rock. The tower is at there studio on the tower that sends signals to their other stations.
