The country station, broadcasting from Patterson NY,, is now simulcasting the programming of co-owned The Wolf 97.3/97.7, located to the west. Known as Kicks 105.5, WDBY had been programmed separately, for the nearby Danbury CT area.
Perhaps a factor in this change is that The Bull, a rival country station broadcast to the Danbury area, has been beating them in the ratings. What is surprising that The Bull is actually just two translators rebroadcasting an automated country format from the HD3 of WDAQ. I don't know of any other translators in this area getting a larger audience than a competing conventional radio station. Perhaps the fact that The Bull is commercial free for 3 hours each morning was a significant reason.
