wddm on 100.7

maybe it's just my radio acting up on me or i'm just understanding or their translator went on the air, but i'm getting 89.3 wddm (which actually is on the air, has been for 2 mo now and the FCC doesn't know this) on 100.7 I know they had a CP for their site in Edison/Metuchen that just sat for the past 2 yrs or so. If anyone else is hearing the same thing, can someone let me know so i can validate my sanity? Thanks. :)

i guess it's on or their testing... it's funny though how the fcc is allowing this translator to rebroadcast a station that has the Licensed and Silent status with the FCC. Do these things really get overlooked? Oh, that's right, I forgot... it's the government. I just answered my own question. ;)

forget everything i've posted about speculating.. the only thing they've said in english for the past 5 mins was 100.7 so, yea, anyhow. dhoom fm, another waste of radio, will bleed illegally on 89.3 and will taint 100.7 in metuchen. if you liked WLEV or or WHUD, sorry. no can do. oak tree road is celebrating their dhoom.
heh, that sounded kinda funny.. :)

Yep. It sucks. I have a radio on the second floor of my house which gets GREAT reception of WLEV. I would listen to it on occasion, but now... Dhoom-fm. I called the number they gave (when they had on an English-speaking host), and the woman was nice, but completely clueless. When I asked her "When did you go on 100.7," she responded "We are on 100.7." After a while, I just thanked her, gave up, and hung up.

LMAO.....

what town are you in? god, i'm gonna miss wlev... a few years ago when 89.3 was still EBC radio, no dhoom moniker, my friends and i used to call them for sh*ts and giggles. we called their phony psychic and really had a good time w/ them. i assume they went on the air fri or saturday..

Yes, it is Dhoom FM

Back on the air according to this week's NERW.

Their office is in Edison and the 100.7 repeater reaches the large South Asian community in Northern Middlesex County.

I got a trace of Dhoom at 100.7 in South Brunswick, on Route 1 by the water tower on top of Sand Hill. It gradually got stronger as I approached New Brunswick. 100.7 was a mess of up to 4 stations in North Brunswick (WLEV, WHUD, WZXL, and Dhoom). It was still a mess in New Brunswick, but it was mostly Dhoom. According to the FCC database and my observations, the translator's signal is only solid for a 2-3 mile radius. 100.7 used to be a mess of 'LEV and 'HUD in the Edison area. 104.7 is clear, why couldn't they just use that instead?

Also I noticed 89.3's signal is stronger in New Brunswick, did they increase their power (illegally) so they could feed the translator?

I heard a random mix of mono, undermodulated Indian music this afternoon, no IDs (not even a legal ID), and the EAS went off in the middle of a song.

i don't know if 89.3 is supposed to be be transmitting from their new site in marlboro/aberdeen on 34. according to their recent sta app from the fcc, they should be operating, i believe, at reduced power (maybe almost 4 watts instead of 9) from their old telegraph hill site. i've noticed they've been stronger in many places they shouldn't have been, this is not during tropo either...

i still think the 89.3/100.7 duo's are a waste... local radio used to be a thing of the past. now we're catering to foreign audiences on american airwaves.

just an opinion.
