WDEF's Luther Masingill On Easy Street

The host of WDEF Radio's morning show for an unprecedented 69 years (and counting) has received the honor of getting a street named after him. Tennessee lawmakers voted to rename Broad Street after the air personality.

I am glad to have seen this. Luther Massengill is the longest serving single personality in all of East TN Radio and still a part of his community even after over 45 years. A legend and still doing wonderful full service broadcasting to the community. In this world of huge choices in entertainment, in radio Content Is King. If you are just a jukebox you'll be short lived. Luther is an instution. Corporate Radio and TV can learn a lot from Luther and would be wise while he's still alive. Overdue in coming! Salute!
