WDEL vs WMRD?

For some reason this morning, KYW was airing a feature at 4am instead of the normal 24/7 news, so I switched to WDEL on my Grundig radio as I shaved. Imagine my surprise when I could barely hear WDEL because of WMRD, 1150 in Middletown, CT. Skip is one thing, but that little station is supposed to be running 46 watts at 4am! Either my Grundig is better than I thought or they were running their daytime power of 2,500 watts.

That has to be it. There is no way that 46 watts with skip is going to beat WDEL. Now if i could only figure out what the oldies station is on 1150. It sounded like WMRD was talk. I can't pick out an id for the the oldies.

WMRD is all talk except for 5AM-10AM and 5PM-6PM. On the weekend they have speacilty music shows including a reggae show, The House of Blues with Dan Aykroid, a broadway music show, a Jewish Music show, an Italian SHow, and a polka show. Plus WMRD also carries When Radio Was Weekdays 12AM-1AM and 7PM-12AM on Sundays.

http://www.wliswmrd.net/ for info about the station.

Thanks, Dave. I'll try to pick up the ID. Now that I have some idea what I am listening for, maybe I can pick it out.
