WDEL's Saturday morning news

I had my first opportunity in a long time this morning to listen to WDEL's Saturday version of their weekday day morning news block.

Frank, as usual, was good.

I hope the woman he was teamed with was doing this for the first time. If not, it was not a good performance. Completely weak in every category.

Like I said, if it was her first attempt, its forgivable. Otherwise, she is not ready for anything but overnight recorded news.

Didn't get to hear Frank's morning newscast today, but he always does a good job. I worked with Frank years ago at WJIC/WNNN-FM in Salem, a good guy, who loves his work and it shows.

Edie Scott usually does Saturday morning news on WDEL. She was a full-timer there about 15-20 years ago.

Yes, she is pretty lackluster.

Frank, as usual, sounds great.

I did get a chance to hear him DJing on WSTW (!) a few weekends back. Are they
THAT desparate for swing shift workers?

Not to put Frank down or anything. He's had some great runs at WVLT in Vineland, among
other places. WSTW didn't really seem like his type of gig.

The second chair with Frank on Saturday mornings has been revolving quite steadily for
the last several years. Both Francie Trout and Katisi Henderson didn't last long at all.

Who's doing sports on Saturday's now?

Let's see....

I started at WDEL in March, 2003 and left the following February since I was doing voiceovers and air work for Greater Media. 11 months, not very long but long enough.

And where am I today? I just finished two years of graduate studies at Drexel University. I have earned a MBA from the LeBow College of Business (concentration: Marketing) plus a MS in Television and New Media Management from the Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. I am presently looking for a position but I am also in the process of setting up my own firm in media and communication consulting. I just got my first client today.

I said goodbye to radio two years ago and I have no regrets. After a 20+ year career, I am content. I wish I would of gone back to college soon than I did though. I would consider working in radio again but to steal a line from the movie Jerry Maguire, "show me the money!"

I stumble upon this post after a friend of mine Googled my name and told me about it.... :D
