Anyone notice all the changes at WDHA the past few months...Any thoughts on why? ???

In under a year... they have replaced... A General Manager, A Program Director, A General Sales Manager, A Production Director, 2 Morning Shows, and 3 Full time air staffers... Not sure what to make of it... that's why I was putting it out there...

The production director was also lured away to satellite on XM. I think the other changes were needed, especially in the mornings. Sounds better now with Monahan who has been a part of the station for a long, long time. I think the rest of the air staff has been there a while too.

the only one who has been there a long time is curtis kay! everything is new and horrible. tony page plays listners home phone number and address over the air (is that an fcc violation) he played its so easy from guns and roses (good song but "f" bombs everywhere) and he sounds so boring. jim monahan sounds old and boring. this station used to rock now its so lame. im still wondering who (if anyone) they'll get for rock the park! me and my daughter went the last 2 years and had a blast. i really need to get satillite at work cause dha is nowhere near the station it was. and whos that chick on at nights now? sounds like she reads at a 3rd grade level.

All I know is that WDHA sounds better to me since the changes. I checked out the ratings, and they have increased since the PD change. I believe that is defined as "progress". I guess it is a matter of opinion.

what numbers are you talking about? all i could find were new york trends numbers and the first half of spring dha was there and the 2nd half there not.i havent seen the final spring numbers so maybe your in the biz but allaccess didnt have em yet. doesnt look like "progress" to me. dha has lost the edge it once had and its sad but that seems to be the trend in radio and more people will goto satillite

The numbers I wrote about were the Fall Morristown ones, the most recent available for that market. Spring numbers should be out soon, so we'll see. I still think they will do well.

The new PD didn't take over until after the Fall ratings....Curtis Kay handled the Fall book.....

yeah matt and fuzz were part of the fall book and from what i remember they said somthing about being 3rd behind howard and scott and todd. im wondering how things will turn out with the spring?

Face it... Format change, or the station for is for sale...

They replace a General Manager with someone with no gm experience, A Program Director with a guy, who can't put in a 8 hour day (gone by 2pm everyday), A General Sales Manager with someone with no GSM experience, A Production Director with someone who never had a job like this before, and a morning show, that's let face it... a transition until they figure out what is next...

I listened the other day for over an 2 hours in the morning on Monday... I got more info and personality out of my cd player... and it hasn't worked in a year...I heard time and temp, and what was coming up next... but face it... no personality...

As much as we all hate clear channel or infinity... they are not this bold... you don't put those many people in place with so little experience without the expectation of failure... We will see when the ratings hit... but face it... if heads don't roll over there with a bad book... then it is true... post the for sale's sign or start buying cowboy hats...

damn i knew they made some changes there but not that many lol sounds like everyone jumping off a ship before it sinks! since you put it that way a sale and/or format change seems to be on the way.....but what format? there would really be no rock left if it went to something else. as far as not caring i herd the unedit of pearl jams jeremy! they used to play edits of songs but not anymore.
ps work is slow today so i have way too much time lol

I have to agree. They sound like a station struggling to take it's last breath. It's obvious what has happened. They have replaced talented folks with much cheaper ones, which is what alot of companies do. Sad-yes....surprising-no.

WDHA RIP!

In case you are not up to date... read the other WDHA posts...it will fill you in!

WDHA RIP! It's only a matter of days... Whoever runs the New Jersey Chapter of Greater Media needs to hang it up! They ran this into the ground...

I Only hope Peter Smyth reads this... He is in charge of this person and should be embarrassed by what happend here...will bet my arm that the ratings book will prove me right...!

In fact after the book is out... maybe we should email what really happened here... nothing better than watching sharks eat each other!!!!

i think another sign is i still havent herd about rock the park they would always let you know by now who was playing and i see nothing on the web about it. also notice the jocks arent out live nearly as much as they used to be (not that anyone cares to see the new jocks anyway)

for the uninformed but interested....who is the gm of wdha ?????no comments on his/her abilities please...just curious as to who(m) it is

Matt Devoti was an on-air talent, promotions director and an AE in Market #1. All of those things are a good mix for a GSM in Surburban Jersey.

one of my drivers said he herd terrie carr on q-104! well in less than a year she went to the burbs to the city and devoti goes from the city to the burbs (i wonder if they passed in the lincoln tunnel lol)
