After a 15 month absence WDHS is back on the air with programming from EWTN.

That isn't the half of it -- the last time it went dark last year, it also was on the air with EWTN for a few weeks.

Apparently, the station's owners, Withers Broadcasting (which also owns CBS affiliates in Clarksburg WV and Grand Junction CO), is doing this, just to keep the license warm; otherwise, they would lose it for inactivity.

But still, if they have no intent of broadcasting on this channel, why bother keeping it? Considering it's a full-powered station on a VHF channel, it is indeed a waste of air.

It's in the Marquette, MI DMA (180), too. I don't know... couldn't there be any other use for that channel? (except that it may serve the Catholic community) I know there are full-power CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox affiliates in that area.

Maybe sell it to those other guys, so they can use it as a satellite to that region, where the Marquette / Escanaba signals are generally hard to get.
