WDJO 1160 on in businesses

WDJO 1160 is catching on in Cincy,I went into Price Hill Chile today, and thought they had 'GRR on BUT turns out to be WDJO 1160,I ask the guy there behind the counter what station they were playing he said "that new one 1160,the customers ask for it.I have found this to be the case in other businesses as well. This station just may have a chance, once Dusty and the rest of their staff go on air shortly as I have been told by station management. My wife said this is the talk at her office as well. Great going 1160,lets hear what you got,I am tired of waiting, just keep the great oldies coming.

This is fantastic! I'm so glad Dusty & the good guys are back. I can't wait until they are streaming on the Internet so I can listen.

WDJO's Promotional Plan - Radio-Info Posts

> WDJO 1160 is catching on in Cincy

Wiz, bless your heart for being enthusiastic and all, but...aren't you connected with this new station somehow?

You've had 10 posts here, total, every single one about 1160. Your first post hinted at a Spanish-language format (!!), which could well have been intentional misdirection on your part.

Every one of your other posts seems to put you at the feet of the station management, engineering and on-air staff.

Now, I certainly understand if you don't want to come out with your name, rank and serial number (as it were), but you're hardly a dispassionate observer with the "I heard them play it in a business, everyone's talking about it, it's all over my wife's office" stuff in this message...

And though I haven't heard WDJO yet, it sounds like a fun idea to me and I would probably like it if it were up here...and I do wish Dusty and the gang well. It's just the "promotion by message board post" stuff doesn't sit very well with me.

Could it be true?

I wonder if it's possible... I think I heard WDJO 1160 around 7pm Friday night. I could hear Personality by Loyd Price. It was not very loud and there were other stations that would get into the mix including a religious station which I assume was the Chicago station on 1160. If it was WDJO that was quite a feat since I live in Charlotte, NC. The WDJO signal pattern goes Northeast so if it was them I was quite suprised.

I routinely get WLW,WCKY, and can usually hear WSAI (weakly) here at night.

>Awh ! you got me , I am just sucking up to those good folks, maybe they need a gopher, a promotions person or something, I always wanted to work for a real friendly radio station and they sound real and friendly to me. I just recently got to know some of the people there and share their enthusiasam. (PS I speak spanish and had some fun with that post)

Re: Could it be true?

Actually the nighttime signal has a lobe to the southeast. Anything's possible. When I worked at the old WCLU, we ran 66 watts on a Post-Sunset Authority for 45 minutes. We got a card from someone in South America who heard the call letters on an ID. The signal was a figure-8 that shot north-south. If they could hear that, you could probably hear WDJO.

Here's the WDJO night pattern:

Well, seriously, good luck to you! Radio is kind of soul-stealing for the most part, but it sounds like it'd be a fun place to work.

I guess I'm a bit skeptical, because I often see posts on these boards by folks who are hiding their association with the station or show or whatever. There's this talk show host down in Georgia who must have half her staff posting favorable messages about her. :D

Again, good luck, and let us know if anything happens!
