WDJO Changes

They are promoting themselves as 1480/WDJO, so I presume the WDJO call letters will move, or have already moved, to 1480. Does anybody know? And what is to become of 1160's format and call letters?

WDJO is now at 1480. I think the change in location on the dial came as a result of finances. 1480 may come in better, because the towers sit dead center in the city. I know they are working on some issues and are currently operating on low power. I can't wait for them to kick that power up and see how they come in out here in the Eastgate area.

Makes sense to me, as they were "renting" the 1160 signal but can own 1480 free and clear.

Probably with the help of a reputable financial institution...

...plus one inheritance, at least one sugar daddy, and several second mortgages.

Now that they actually own the property, could they not apply for a new frequency in the near future?

Lord knows, the WDJO's listeners will follow them anywhere they go. Even though they are few in number, their listeners are fanatic to the core.

Maybe if they got Ron Britain to come out of retirement and record a weekly show, I might listen too...or perhaps Paul (Dick) Purtin?

The problem with that is there are no available AM frequencies unless they could apply for one in the 16khz range in the expanded band.

Helen Mays-- are you LISTENING?? :)

Daytime, 1380 is mixing with the 2nd(?) harmonic of 740 on parts of East Price Hill, especially in the Elberon Ave area. Not a big deal, but a fact none the less.

True enough.

They might have an opportunity to improve their night power and pattern should they wish.
