WDJO in stereo on web

Anybody been to WDJO's new website, oldies1160.com? They're streaming the oldies in stereo. Look for the link halfway down page on right side that says stereo. Don't click on "listen live" if you want the stereo stream.

BTW, website looks great! :)

It sounds great at 96K Stereo. Way to go DJO!!
With their night time signal limitations, that stream is a key component of their success. Hats off to Rodger for stepping up to the plate!

Sounds great! I turned it right on after Chubby Howard's shift on WBZI ended:

Are they live all day?

For a good internet only oldies station with original Jingles and DJ intros from the "golden age" of rock radio taken from stations all over the place including CKLW:

WDJO is almost never Live...but it's by fast the most "live" sounding voice tracking around. The jocks have current temps in their voices & a thermometer probe connected to the automation. Note that Charlie Van Dike always talks between the forecast & the temp...so you won't hear that the forecast & temp were recorded at different times...class act all the way. Had me fooled...until I saw it in person. My jaw dropped...

I'll say it sure sounds good, but when I noticed that one of the jocks is also the Hamilton County Auditor I kind of got it. I listened for a long time yesterday and it sounds very live. But in my distant radio days we made a voice track tape, hitting a button to put the cue tone on the unused 2nd channel on the VT tape. It never fooled anyone then.

I hope it works for them, our local Oldies format here on KSUR AM1260 / XESURF-AM540 didn't make it even though for most of the day they did have live jocks and an incredible music library. Their only misstep was a brief flirtation at night with Scott Shannon's True Oldie Channel. GOOD LUCK to everyone at WDJO!

It does really sound good, doesn't it? I often wondered if Dusty was really at the studio every morning at 5:00AM, but I thought much of his show was live. I would love to see how that operation works, but I'm sure they wouldn't let just some listener take a tour of the studios. I know that during most of the workday it is hard to listen in since the bandwidth is usually taken by about 9:00. Hell, somebody sure is listening.

Between my travel and the Holidays, I just came across the new stereo stream about a week ago.

THIS is what commercial oldies radio should be. Terrestial or streaming. Congratulations on a job well done to all concerned. Great presentation and Great audio! (128kbs according to my player).

(And yeah....given the occasional problems accessing the stream, the station definitely has got a following out there!)
