WDJO Live Streaming

Sometimes I can get them, sometimes I can't & instead get a "Proxy Settings/Server Unavailable Error". It seems to have coincided with their web site redesign start. I try several times a day & sometimes its up, sometimes not. I've sent them e-mail to notify them. The stream used to be rock solid dependable.
 
They told me that there's a limit of 1000 listeners & they sometimes exceed that. If I understood correctly, no new listener can come on line until a current one leaves. That might explain the 'sometimes it works, sometimes it don't' problem.
 
That explains why I have no problem at night, only till about 5 PM now. 1,000 listeners is too few. They need more bandwidth, but even though I love the station, fairness dictates that they serve their local population first... People who can actually shop their advertisers. So I understand. Too bad for me here on Long Island! :(
 
According to Christian Broadcasting Systems, owners of WDJO, the station is still operating in the red.
If the "Good Guys" don't turn things around in 2007, the station won't be celebrating a 2nd birthday
 
ClassX has only been on the air for a little over 6 months and we are already out of the red. Of course we have a volunteer staff. I'm not sure if WDJO has a volunteer staff or not.
 
I really have no comment. I just think DJO conversation should always be at the top of list for discussions.
 
I did receive an email from Dusty and he indicated it was a problem with bandwith and they are hoping they can purchase more and have advertisers pay for them. That would make sense. Guess they are a victim of their own success..........onegreatplace, take your attitude somewhere else. Your snide comments are not conducive to any meaningfull discussion.
 
I heard Dusty is working on a plan to have DJO play from all the gas pumps in Hamilton County.
 
What the 'Duster' needs to do, to keep it legal, is to change his name to: Dusty 1160/WDJO Rhodes and then when they put the meter stickers on the gas pumps, it will be a wonderful endorsement for the station... Or maybe 1160 WDJO Dusty Rhodes... Hey? If a guy in Chicago can change to Peyton Manning, why not????
 
OK I'll admit it. I had never listened until right now. This station is boss, man! The first title I heard when I streamed was I Really Love You (?) by The Stereos (??). They sound fabulous... but the streaming skips or hickups. Is that true for everyone or does it have to do with me being MAC based?
 
For whatever its worth, I seldom, if ever, have problems accessing the stream. Usually takes a rebuffering or two....then its "off and running".

Good quality stream, great quality programming.
