WDJO Weekend Schedule and Website

I know there has been a lot of news about WDJO on the Discussion Boards. After not listening to the station for quite some time, I went back to listen to WDJO on the weekends. On Sunday's the schedule on their website states from 3-6 pm-Tom Cat Michaels and 6-9 pm-Harry Stephens. Instead when you tuned into WDJO, a person named Jeff Davis is on the air on Sundays from 3-9 pm . Also on Fridays the website stats from 9pm-12am it is Frank & Friends in The Martini Lounge with Harry Stephens. Instead it is automated music on Friday from 9-12 mid. Are both Tom Cat Michaels and Harry Stephens still with WDJO? Also, on their website the artist's listing gives the impression it is still a 50's and 60's station and not the pot luck 60's/70's format is has transitioned into. Please forgive me, but WDJO when it was on 1160 am with Dusty, was a great station, somehow today it is not the same.

The website seems to have been last updated when dinosaurs roamed the earth... But kudos to the K boys. They are still on the air and the music sucks much less than before.

I don't know Marty. When they played "oldies" 50s and 60s, their paylist didn't suck at all to many of us. Now that they seemed to have "lost their direction" some of us aren't sure what they are playing or who their target audience even is anymore.

They sound mostly 70's gold now. I know I'm blowing smoke here but, 100.3 would be a perfect spot for their format. Sure beats .01 they are getting now with sports.

Harry Stevens advertised his restaurant on the station and had a show. I haven't been listening, but maybe he left after the BMI fiasco or maybe he got tired of advertising on this station.

I think there should be a format swap. Bring WDJO to FM 100.3 and take The Fan to 1480 AM. "Sports on AM, It's where it belongs!" should be the slogan for 1480 WCFN.

I was more talking about the music since I started hearing the talent saying how "bad ass" they were ( yes, those exact words on the air... Plz..) Much better now. I suspect they won't return to 50s/60s oldies under this crew because they claim they have no ability to sell it.. And they seem unwilling to focus on the sales effort to monetize the "age wave"

50's early 60's is still a great niche that can generate $$.. but you need feet on the street to sell it-- that is a lot of work--- easier to be the 4th sports station or Right/Left wing talk that you can package it up with your big sticks

I recently found a station that sounds a lot like the "old" WDJO, music-wise, while driving through Globe Arizona. The station is KJAA "Jukebox 1240" and they have a high quality stream:
http://www.jukebox1240.com/
KJAA claims to be "locally owned and programmed" which is rare these days.

I tried to listen to WDJO this afternoon. They had some music selections on never heard of.
I thought the idea of a 50' and 60's with early 70's was to play the hits your audience knows.

As Marty once said the station had promise but he has gone well over the deep end. I used to listed perhaps 6 to 8 hours a week.
Now, except for a quick hit here and then, I don't listen. Ted and Jack try hard but this station needs a huge overhaul.
There is no reason for me to what to listen.

Good station.

Is WDJO the station that is on the market for $695.000?
The brokers are saying there is a Cincinnati station in the market available for that price and it's a turnkey operation.

I would question the reference to a turnkey operation. The programming is stale, the sales staff isn't selling much and the music is way out in left field these days.

That might be WCVG. Jon do you know? I thought the bank (err the Ks) were closer the absurd 800k number.

We've discussed this before.... It is, in fact, WCVG. The clue (other than the fact that almost every broker is hawking it) is that it comes with the studio/tower site.

Frankly, i am surprised that Tim hasn't changed format on WCVG.

I think that the folks holding WDJOs paper would love to get $400K but, who knows.

I'm surprised NKU hasn't turned 910 AM back on. Don't they need to soon to avoid losing their license? Without FM translators, these 3 AM's will continue to fade into their own demise I'm afraid.
