there isnt much talk about dothan radio.

i vt nights there and i gotta say a few things-- i have worked at a number of BIG stations.

this is 2005 and WDJR GAVE AWAY $20,000 IN THE SPRING BOOK

put on a trace atkins show and gave away 1000 TIX.

we are putting on a 2nd chance prom----

THIS IS BIG TME RADIO IN A SMALLER MARKET--

even birmingham stations dont give away that much stuff.

Key word is you voice track. That is small market radio. However Wtvy had a concert including 12 artist...Troy Gentry, Gary Levoux, Tracey Lawrence, Craig Morgan,Aaron Tippin,Blake Shelton,Jeff Bates,Rhett Akins,Darryl Singletary,Chad Brock and Gary Morris...just to name a few! Forget Birmingham radio....NOBODY NationWide has pulled something of that Magnitude off but WTVY!!! WTVY raised over $33,000 in 60 hours camping on the roof of Krispy Kreme Dougnuts for Special Olympics....that was a NATIONAL RECORD....breaking Hoover's record already set!! WTVY gave away $8,000 in cash, and over $30,000 in prizes in this book...this doesn't include the concerts they hosted and gave tickets away for too!!@ Loretta Lynn, Hot Apple Pie, Jeff Bates, Mel McDaniel,Josh Gracin,Brian McComas, Billy Currington and more!! WTVY is leaving for Nashville next week keeping us up to date on the CMA Music Fest with live remotes from Tootsie's!! WDJR gave away 1000 tickets for Trace and only 1600 showed up!! WDJR has had 3 different morning shows this book!!!hmmmmmmm...big market or small brains!!! maybe big egos is more appropriate!! Hey redneck Wicksburg "chick", you'd better watch how you throw the word "ego" around. WDJR raised over $100,000 in 48 hours with the CMN radiothon... What record book are you looking at? The Guiness from 1935? More importantly, how is raising money a competition? It's supposed to be about the kids.

From what I hear things are about to implode there anyway. What's the value of a spot on your radio station now? $3? How about I give you a prize to give away, do I get a 6 month schedule free? I've never heard stories like I've heard about Amie bending over and taking in the fanny to get somebody on the air! WDJR charges money?? "If you come on the air, and give me free bottled water I'll let you talk for 6 minutes every Wednesday morning in the 7 o clock hour for free!"

At some point I'm sure the owners of Styles Media would like to make some actual MONEY. You know, the green stuff that makes the world go round?

Who cares if you're going to Tootsies? How is that beneficial to your listeners? "Hey were here and your not!!!" WDJR still has integrity...maybe you should look in the mirror. The only thing your leading the way in is 7 minute commercial breaks.

(BTW Garrets VT'd show is a helluva lot more entertaining that whatz her nutz and her talking over the posts...)

wdjr is better programmed than most large market country stations.

i have only been on board a few months but listened to the station for years.

All kidding aside there is a "Country" war in Dothan. We should keep in mind that competition makes us better and keeps us on our toes. WTVY is a worthy opponent, but IMHO they aren't doing any more "Real Radio" then we are.

I believe the combined total from other two stations was $3,000. Even without them they would have gotten well over $100K and last time I checked, 48 hours was less than 60, and $100K+ is more than $33K...ALOT MORE.

BTW, WDJR hasn't used the "variety" moniker in like 4 months. I guess you'd hear that if you'd pull your head out of your ass.

Leave me out of this...sure, I've been fired by Jerry and the gang at DJR...I've been fired by TVY FOUR times...I don't have a vendetta...forgive and forget is my motto...I've managed to stay in the market of my choice for over 20 years and (for the most part) I've had a good time

I also know what kind of people are in small market radio...its time for everyone to look in the mirror!
 
You tried to bury me...how ironic you did a half ass job of that just like you run a radio station! As for not believing that I typed anything....well, I can't believe you were stupid enough to move back here after you failed in Jackson too!! Sooner or later, the Holladay group will figure out that there is only 1 COMMON DENOMINATOR constantly involved when problems arise in Dothan or Jackson....JERRY BROADWAY!!! I dread the day they finally GET IT and dump you too!!! I might really have to stop having FUN AND START CONCENTRATING!!!!

Don't think so....I really can't speak of any body on your air staff...because I don't know them...chances are, they are all great guys afraid to tell you how bad you really STINK....for fear of "The Wrath of Jerry Broadway"....in the meantime, keep swimming in your "own pool of crap and ego".....it will eventually be your DEMISE!! 1. I know for a fact Jerry didn't make any of these posts. He's left after lunch today for Lake Eufaula with his family on a camping trip. He called me twice this afternoon while I was on the air to check the radar while he was setting up his tent. Unless he has a magic laptop he made no such posts.

I agree it is only radio but when people decide they want to take personal shots at people thats when it stops being fun. To rib one another is one thing but to take personal shots at people is another
