WDJX streaming?

Dude, you seriously need to get a life. You think Louisville Kentucky stations give a damn about listeners over 400 miles outside of their service area?! ::)
 
Until recently, Kiss FM didn't have a great signal in some parts of the Louisville market. Getting re-licensed to Prospect has made a substantial improvement to their coverage area.

Because it costs money to stream, and companies like Mainline give very serious consideration to every penny they spend as a matter of survival.

The same question could be asked about putting song titles and artists on RDS, which everyone in Louisville does except Mainline. And again, the answer is money.

What's the return on investment for them to stream DJX? The Max is has a big "at work" listenership, so streaming at your desk on a PC provided by your company is pretty easy. For DJX, their audience doesn't fit that demographic so well. So if you're going to choose one to stream, the Max will be the one.

But seriously, it's not like DJX is that much different than Kiss in Louisville or WXSS in Wauwatosa.
 
If you make as much money as DJX does AND you're in market 53 AND your competition streams, I think that would be a wise investment. Just my opinion.

If you ain't got the money to begin with, it does not make a wise investment. It would appear the owners of DJX would rather spend their money on their main product instead of something frivilous like streaming. It appears most people here do not understand that streaming makes very little, if any, money for the stations.

Here's a thought for those of you complaining about DJX not streaming....put up your own damn stream. Then you'll find out just how expensive it can be and how little money you can make off of it.

It's also very evident that the people in here complaining about DJXs lack of streaming have no clue how to run a radio station.

Money can be made from streaming if the company in question knows what it's doing. CBS FM in NY actually has a clue. They stream and run internet exclusive spots at the same time they're running different spots over their terrestrial signal. They're geting double revenue. I doubt if they're running those internet only spots for free, anyway.

Here, in Louisville, with the exception of COX radio, the major corporate players don't seem to care much about what's going on at the local level. Did anybody try to find info on WHAS last night about any storms in the area??? That used to be the first place I'd tune into. I didn't even bother last night. But that's a topic for another thread, lol.

Not to change the subject, but I long ago gave up on WHAS. I have a couple of weather radios and get text warnings sent to my cell. In fact, I don't really think to turn to WHAS anymore when the skies get dark.

Well let's just see what they say to me when I show up there this summer for a vacation. It's in the plans for an aircheck along with 74 other radio stations on the way to and around the state. I have no problem telling them that DJX not streaming anymore stinks to high heaven when people like me are sick of their local stations. I mean, come on, 107.7 WVCY here in Milwaukee - change that religious talk crap!

I will bypass the get a life comment since my big mouth has been tending to get me in trouble lately.

I have to admire 107.7 WVCY because they don't follow the status quo of the average Christian Talk radio station. While most Christian Talk stations carry "Focus on the Family" at least once a day, some maybe three times a day, WVCY doesn't carry that program at all. They are Christian music stations that are willing to stop the music long enough to carry Focus on the Family daily. WJIE in Louisville perfectly fits this category. WVCY has been known to drop many of the popular "Christian" radio teachers for several reasons. They are real passionate and increase listenership loyalty has resulted from their effort. WVCY has become a rapidly growing network, with stations located beyond Milwaukee and Wisconsin. I don't think they will be selling their properties anytime soon.
