New Hampshire WDMN LP FM on 94.9 Manchester, N.H.

There is a new FM on 94.9 in Manchester, N.H., WDMN-LP Makes WHOM not listenable from just south of the Hooksett Toll Plaza down to the Merrimack Outlets and even south of there are traces of WDMN-LP. Surprising WHOM's owners and the FCC would permit this allocation with all of the co-channel interference. LPFM Database lists the allocation date as being 4 April 2024.

Just because you can hear a station does not mean you are 'supposed to'. WHOM should, under typical conditions, not be heard that far away. WDMN is within the rules and if anything, they are likely getting far more interference in their 60dbu. You are talking about a station almost 90 miles away. Do you really think they care? You couldn't even get a complaint accepted as legit be the FCC. In fact, the FCC had from December until April to peruse this application and accept or reject it. They okayed the permit because it did not interfere with any station's primary coverage area. Again, we're talking 90 miles from WHOM with WDMN's 60 dbu being about 3.6 miles.

One wonders how long WHOM and WPKQ will operate their respective equipment on Mt. Washington if their primary coverage area is Portland. Both could ultimately move to one of the three big towers near Sebago Lake operating similar facilities to WBLM.
