WDOR Sturgeon Bay, WI

DX today brought WDOR-93.9 Sturgeon Bay, WI in over WLIT Chicago (Local) so I decided to aircheck it. WDOR is a small town variety station. They air a mix of Talk, Sports, AC, Country, Classic Hits and Oldies. Its a strange little station in my opinion. You'll instantly tell that its a very small town station from the way the station sounds. WDOR-FM and sister WDOR serve Door County and Northeast Wisconsin. Lots of fishers, hunters, outdoor people and campers visit this area a lot so you'll notice a lot of references to fishing including fishing reports on these airchecks.

This station sounds just like my hometown station--WSNN-FM 99 Hits FM, Potsdam NY!
They've been running the same jingle package since 1987, their jocks are straight out of high school and their HitDisc subscription seems to have run out in 1996!
Everytime I go home, they seem to be playing the same Hot AC stuff they played when I worked there...in 1994!

Good stuff...Love these lil' mom & pop deals. A breath of fresh air.
