WDRC AM before I went to FM.

Good stuff in there! I really appreciated hearing a portion of the ads! Was that the late great Ernie Anderson mentioning New Britain at the very beginning? :)

Hey Ken "Squirt, Baby, Shoot" Gilbert on Wacky102 -

It always made me crack up when I heard you say that.

Thanks for those blast from the past airchexx.

Worked @Wacky when Rick Kelly & Jim Kaye "The Big Tuna" were there.

Was on before Jim, & also worked @Rock102.

Remembered when Jim drove to the studio, & brought in crates of LP's for the "Gold Rush".

Do you remember the J&K show?

Best Regards,

KML, thanks. I think that was Ernie Anderson.
amfmradio1. hiya, yes I do remember the J&K Show. Also, Jim Rising was a great pd. We did a lot of crazy stuff at that station that no one else would even try to get away with. Thanks for the kind words guys!

What a great clip, it shows how great local radio use to be.

Also loved hearing a lot of the DRC and Commerical Jingles again!

Thanks for sharing Ken!

Thanks scottg,
OK guys. One more and I'll leave you alone. This WDRC AM aircheck was a little earlier, in January of 1983. You'll see it's a little more up-tempo. One thing I've noticed with this check is the fact there are tags. LOT'S of them. If the folks in sales offered this, it could make a sale. It's more like an endorsement. But I shouldn't give out old ideas that worked and still could? This aircheck will give you an idea of where Rick Buckley was taking this station to.
