WDRC-FM HD3

Just noticed this yesterday as I was in Wallingford, it's the same programming as "The Talk of Connecticut" minus the commercials, replaced by PSA's.

Must be taking the internet feed then. Hope they put it in extended hybrid mode to keep the sound quality of the the HD-2 decent.

I don't believe there's an internet feed, the FM doesn't stream either. It's part of the whole agreement to promote HD Radio that none of the sub-channels have commercials on them, though I do noticed a few slip ups with other stations here and there

They must have it rigged up so the automation system(s) provide stream fill when the station goes to commercial. May be a licensing thing like with an internet feed.

Off topic: I wish Buckley would stream their CT stations, since I liked hearing DRC-FM & WDRC-HD2 whenever I was visiting CT and can't get them here in Jersey.

That wish comes up often on DRC-FM's Facebook page and always gets the same response: No plans to stream. IIRC, Buckley shut down its streams (which were on the old Broadcast.com) in April 2001 when the edict about having to pay extra royalties to unionized voice talent in commercials came down. A lot of stations left the Internet at that time for the same reason. But most of them came back and either gave in to the unions' protection racket, scrubbed the commercials from their webcasts or got non-union talent to voice their spots. For some reason, Buckley never came back. Too bad; Ron Sedaille puts together an edited version of his Saturday night show for Youtube every week and I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd like to hear it live. More eyeballs for whatever advertising Buckley could sell on the drcfm.com website, to be sure, but apparently the AFTRA money grab still sticks in their craw.
