Anyone else having trouble getting the HD signal from WDRC today?

The entire ride home the HD light was blinking the entire time but would never lock on. I also tried it at home on my portable HD radio and it too couldn't lock on to it. Normally I have no problem locking on to it from Hartford to Newington or at my Newington home.

I did a scan of the dial and all other HD signals locked in fine.. (BTW when did WHCN get rid of the Deep Classic Rock channel on HD and replace it witha Fox Sports radio feed?)

Anyone else having an issues locking on to the WDRC HD stream? (Does anyone else even have a HD radio?!)

Back in April and it's a simulcast of WPOP Fox Sports Radio 1410. newbritainradio made a post about it here.

Yeah I had it Sunday as well.

I will check it today when I drive in to my office in Hartford. :D
 
Well no success locking in the HD signal today on DRC. The HD light just blinks at me. Was able to tune in HD on WAQY from Springfield, WTIC, WHCN, WPLR and others with no issue.

Oh well got DRC pumped up now on my Squeezebox in my office via the Internet stream. :D
 
When I got out of work tonight, it looks like WDRC pulled down their HD feed altogether. There was no a blip of a HD carrier on my radio. So it looks they are working on it. (I have not had a chance to check on it again since I got home.)

I liked the HD2 format of WDRC, it would suck if it's gone for good. If their HD transmitter failed, it won't be worth it to fix it. At least 102.7 and 103.1 are now clear.
 
Dang the DRC online stream just went down.

I am having withdrawals already. :D

(And its back!) Only missed one song.
 
And I am happy to report that HD signal is back and working on WDRC now. :) Was a nice ride with the radio turned up. :D

Off topic... but was (and am) listening at work and Floyd Right is on.

It's Friday and I want to get the hell out of work and enjoy the long weekend.

I am listening and Floyd mumbles something then says "It's four thirty four here on the Big D!"

I got all excited and starting packing my breifcase to go home and then looked at the clock and it was only 2:20 PM not 4:34. Come to find out DRC is counting down the top 500 songs from the 70's and 80's and that song he played was song 4:34.

He had me excited for nothing. :D
 
They must be working on the HD encoder again. Was driving in and the HD kept going in and out for a few moments, then it went away for about 45 seconds and returned again and stayed locked in, but this time I noticed that the 102.9-3 simulcast of WDRC-AM stream was gone.

(BTW the online streaming is messed up, missing Graham's entire showbiz buzz this morning, instead we got PSA's.)
 
Blah commercials are still firing at the wrong time, just cut off Spiral Staircase's "I love you more today than yesterday" in the middle of the song.
 
Looks like they are working on the streaming now.

The artist and title information bein shown was delayed by at least 6 or 7 songs, and the commercials kept getting inserted cutting off songs that were playing.
 
Streaming is fixed, the titles are properly synced now and there are no issues with the commericals cutting off the songs. :)
 
When you're doing an essentially ground-up streaming build of a terrestrial station, there are so many little housekeeping things that need to be done in order for larger issues not to happen, it can drive you nuts! It's not a fun project at all, but in the end it's very rewarding.
 
Yes! My Walkman and 5 CD Carousel are both getting that noise. My headphones pick it up some on the left channel.
 
I haven't been around to post but WDRC-AM is back on WDRC HD-3. They actually have a decent news show on at 5pm that I listened to the last few nights driving home. Very well produced show.
