WDRC received down at Jones Beach

Hi all As I was going down to Jones Beach for a concert a couple weeks ago .As I was in the parkinglot I had a good signal of WDRC with alittle hiss on my GM modified radio for dxing.

Likely. I was getting WFCC-FM 107.5 from Chatam, MA in the early afternoon on Monday, along with a slightly better signal from 101.7 FM of Long Island. With WFCS-FM 107.7 of New Britain off, JAM'N 107.7 from Pawcatuck (Stonington) was in a bit.

I agree progressivetalk .Yes it was about 83 degrees that day.

I pickup JAM'N 107.7 here in Wallingford at times.

I did not get a chance to check other Connecticut stations that time .

Summer weather patterns along with ionospheric conditions can have some fun effects on FM. Summer is always a good time for FM tropo and eSkip, and this summer's been particularly good for us DXers

Yes I agree.I love this time.

I get WPUR 107.3 from Atlantic City fighting with WAAF daily from Mass which is fine with me.I rather listen to WPUR .

When I get almost all NOAA weather channels on my Bearcat 200 scanner .Thats when I check the FM dial.

The Hartford FMs like CCC, DRC, RCH, HCN are regulars in Suffolk County in L.I., but as you travel west on L.I., they die out quickly before you get to Nassau County, usually around Huntington if you're driving on the Northern State Parkway.
