Were you receiving it off-air (where and on what channel?) or from cable (where and on what channel?)?

Is it still on? I'm not seeing it.

As I am in Moneta VA and have a clear shot at Smith Mt, I was receiving it with my HDTV antenna on channel 24 thru my TV, no cable or dish type pickup. As i am writing this they just went off the air. They were on for appro. 77 Hrs strait through. Charter must be doing this as to not lose its licence?

That's exactly it. What I don't understand is why I'm not receiving anything. I hooked up my spectrum analyzer and didn't see anything on channel 24 when I posted my message.

Any chance you can e-mail me next time you spot it on the air? webmaster AT rabbitears DOT info. I'd like to catch it on the air.

I tried to e-mail you but it bounced back to me. No idea why we cannot seem to contact each other by e-mail.

Is WDRL, in fact, back on the air in some sort of permanent arrangement? If so, did they regain their cable carriage?

Later . . . .

They signed it on long enough to keep the license alive, now it's got silent authority with the FCC again.

Okay, this morning I've spotted WDRL on the air. Signal is as lousy as ever (about half my tuners decode it, the other half don't) but it is there. Looks to be running a simulcast of WLFG.

Wdrl-tv is now part of Living Faith Television, a faith base Christian Network base in Abington VA.
(WlFg-tv) It has seven stations in VA, TN, NC, and WV.

Here we go again, DRL-tv has been off the air for 2 days now, as if they have technical issues or just the lack of funds to run the station no one knows, just a continuance of the DRL- Charter saga.....

I got a brief e-mail response from Mr Younts a few days ago. He stated he has consulting engineers trying to fix the FCC rules violations with the WDRL signal. I suspect the latest on-and-off behavior is a result of those repair attempts, but I could be wrong.

Additionally, operating the signal for more than 24 hours every [fewer than] 30 days means the station is legally "on the air" and thus does not have to file a silent notification with the FCC, so that could also be playing a role.

Trip, It must of been the the repair situation as they were back on the air around 4.00 PM yesterday and are still on today, looks like a more focus and better signal that they are sending out now....

The station has new (to it, at least) call letters. As of December 1, it's now WEFC. These call letters were on Roanoke's channel 38 prior to the PAX era when it became (and is still known as) WPXR.
