WDSD original air date

Don't know when they went country, I know they were in 1975, because I met Don the Dude a DJ who worked there, their slogan was with female singers, "WDSD Big Country Stereo 95 Dover". They were WDOV-FM in 1970 so I would imagine it was sometime in 1971 they changed calls but still were MOR, country started in 1973 or 1974, I used to listen to them here in Philly because they were in Stereo and played plenty of music from the 50's and 60's which IMHO is real country, not the whatever stuff that has been out from the 80's to today...

My mother was an avid listener to 'DSD for the better part of 1975, at least at home (I turned 14 that summer). Don't know why she stopped.

I guess "DSD" refers to "Dover, State of Delaware" and not Delmarva Sash and Door, a doormaker that used to be in Barclay, MD till they went out of business...

Actually the WDSD calls stood for D over, S mryna, D elaware, because of their proximity right in the middle of both towns on route 13...

I also remember listening to WDSD in the mid 1970's. Another DJ I recall from there was a "Pistol Pete" .... I think his last name was Adlum, or something similar. Anyone remember him?
