WDVB/Channel 23 Sold

It's been sold to a spectrum speculator. And it's a Class A, not an LPTV.

What exactly does that mean?

Here is what I see on WDVB right now:

23-1 - A Mexican network
23-2 - TVC Latino
23-3 - SAB TV
23-4 - SWAGAT

The buyers hope wireless interests (cell phone providers) will pay them to shut WDVB down & hand over the spectrum.

It's actually somewhat more complicated than that, but that's the basics.

Correct. Same premise as what's going on with WZME-TV in Bridgeport, CT.
