SA Sports Star gave me an answer about the change when I Facebook Messaged them.
"103.3 has a bigger signal and coverage area than does 94.5FM especially at night"
Not sure how 103.3 does, AM signals are the ones who turn down power at night. Unless 94.5 is getting interference from an out-of-town signal. It might have to do with 94.1 playing pop, the hip-hop station right next to the pop station on the dial makes a bit of sense.

The 103.3 signal is better in Comal County, but still not terribly good. I had not listened to that frequency since it was Alt; the KBPA move to the Austin antenna farm may have also aided the better coverage. 94.5 was always the strongest of the translators originating out of San Antonio: at least when they were sports. 107.9 also puts an ok signal into the south area of Canyon Lake.Alpha Swaps We & SportsStar In San Antonio

I wouldn't call 94.5 the strongest. The 93.3 translator was pretty good last I heard it, so was 103.7 before moving to 107.9. Also 99.9 and 102.3, the Spanish translators. 90.5 also is pretty strong on the Spanish side.
94.5 was the strongest in the Canyon Lake area. 93.3 takes interference from KGSR (more when it was on the Bertram tower); 103.7 made an appearance, but was spotty. 99.9 and 102.3 battle with other stations. I will double check on 107.9. 103.3 did better to the South in its Alt days. No clue after that. I head south on business next week and will check how the ESPN signal on 103.3 does.

How about 93.7? Last I heard that was off-air but when it's on it comes in up north of SA.
Highway 46 is the line of demarcation when the 93.7 translator is running (and that’s been some time). KLBJ FM will take interference on Highway 46, once your north of 46, it’s pretty much all KLBJ FM. KLBJ was (and may still be) conducting tower maintenance: the signal has not been as strong here as usual. They obviously do not target any of Comal County, but they do have a few listeners in this area.

Curious but when was the last time you heard 93.7 on? They have a permit that expires in less than a few months from now, maybe they just gave up.
I heard the 93.7 translator a few weeks ago while driving on 281 North back to Canyon Lake, but I haven’t heard it on since.
With the 93.7 signal temporarily reduced, KQBT out of Houston has caused the noise on 93.7. Back in 2007, KLBJ was on reduced tower due to an ice storm and “The Arrow” was relatively common.

LOL 93.7 probably still had that buzzing sound mixed in with KJMA.
The Houston station making it to your area doesn't surprise me. I've heard it before in SA when the translator was off and before the translator existed.

They should have not switched frequencies and confused listeners. Both are translators.
