We all over thought this WRIT thing!

Hello Everyone,

I just feel it necessary to further comment on what happened with WRIT in a way I haven't heard yet. When the stunting happened, as radio fans, or geeks, we all began to guess what the station was going to do. And, we all put out our theories including the new Whoopi morning show coming to town. But, 95.7 was asking the question of, "What do you want to hear on this brand new station that you are building?" What we have never defined was exactly who the "YOU" they were talking to was. Was it us radio geeks? No. Was it listeners from other stations? Probably not. The correct answer is that the majority of people they new that they would target were the faithful listeners of WRIT! So, if you ask them, "What radio station do you want?" Of course, their answer, is going to be the one we had. They don't want their station to go away, and CC new that. Of course, their reason for doing this was to add more 80's songs. They neede people to notice this difference, and notice it we did!

Well, I guess that gives Milwaukee at least six '80s stations. My question is: what happens to commercial radio when THAT audience ages out of the demo?

Then we have another "Help us build a better '90s radio station" stunting weekend.

Unfortunatly for radio, no one will hear it. '90s music fans will be listening to their ipods.

That station sounds really crappy now! All they've done was make it more crappy than it already was. In my opinion, it should have gone rhythmic AC with Whoopie In The Morning, but then all Milwaukee gets is stupid relaunches! But I am glad that almost nothing is going to change around here! I don't like radio station format changes!

Ahh but is there an audience for Rythmic AC in Milwaukee? As for Whoopie, it's obvious that you're a fan, but have you actually heard her show? Reviews are mixed, and if her show looks like it may not fly, why bother to bring her to town only to fail after a short time. Hey, she could be the next coming of Stern, but I doubt it. CC took the easy route, they didn't have to change much, and that costs less. Better still, most of the staff may just keep their jobs, feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Whoopie has none of those worries... By the way, I've been listening and I don't think that RIT sounds "that" bad. But they will need to open up the playlist soon. So does the programming (imaging-dee jays) really sound that bad to you?

There's something on the "Milwaukee's 95.7" website that makes me think yet another shoe is going to drop - that "vote for the DJ" thing? It's like, "Vote for who you want to be a DJ on 95.7." I wonder if they'll soon announce that the votes are in! And, guess who you picked! Whoopi Goldberg!

Which would be quite a coincidence since CC juuuuust happened to sign Whoopi not long ago for big bucks and are rolling her show out in markets across the country right now!

I'm just sayin', I wouldn't be surprised in a month or so that we find out that's why the "vote for who you want to be a dj" thing was there.
